Family Poses For A Photo, Pregnant Stranger Interrupts To Reveal Her True Identity
After 11 failed IUIs, a miscarriage following two IVF treatments, two stillbirths and other heart-breaking procedures resulting in sadness, Holly and Darren had all but given up hope of having a baby.
After the loss of twins Brinly and Jude in 2013, who were originally part of triplets, the couple and their family members traveled to Multnomah Falls in Portland, Oregon, where they had planned a special memorial service for the babies. Family members braced themselves for the tears ahead as they mourned the loss of not just these babies, but also the ones before them.
The couple still had biological embryos saved, so when 46-year-old friend Becky Meixner volunteered to carry the embryos for them as a gestational surrogate, they decided to try one more time. But this time, after all of the gut wrenching losses they'd suffered, they chose not to tell anyone about their plans. The embryo transfer was successful and another set of twins was on the way, but the couple kept their secret much longer than many expecting people do.
They wanted everyone to be as thrilled as they were, albeit apprehensive what with the past losses of sweet baby angels, so during their trip to Multnomah Falls for the twins' memorial service, Holly and Darren intended to surprise their family with the news. Two more babies were growing inside their friend's belly.
After the memorial service, the family gathered together to pose for a group photo. Once the family was positioned for the photo, a pregnant woman suddenly interrupts with a life-altering announcement. She pops into their photo, standing front and center. The family members had no idea who this stranger was and wondered what on earth she was doing in their picture.
But when Holly reaches out and touches the pregnant woman's belly and reveals their surprise--that she is their surrogate and the babies she is carrying are hers and Darren's--the family erupts into joyful tears and hugs for everyone, including Becky.
Just a few days shy of when triplet Jude was stillborn the previous year, the surrogate delivered two healthy twin boys, Noah and Beckom. Here they are standing next to a special tree in memory of Jude and Brinly.
