Girl Sends Late Grandma Balloon Message, Days Later A Mystery Box Appears On Her Doorstep

When Bella Hosford was seven, she was left to mourn the loss of her "favoritest grandmother ever." Bella's great-grandmother Minnie Sue Watts, whom she fondly called Mawmaw, sadly passed away. Bella was allowed to visit her Mawmaw before she left earth, and as sad as she was to lose her, this meant the world to the little girl.
“The last day I got to see her, it was a really special day to me because I knew that she was going to go to heaven. And whenever I hugged her, the last thing she ever said to me was ‘I love you, Bella.'”
One year later, close to the anniversary of Mawmaw's death, Bella was still grieving and struggling through family gatherings without Mawmaw present. To help heal, she wrote a special note to Mawmaw with the help of her mom Tricia Hosford, which they then attached to a balloon.
They let the balloon go, watching it drift high into the sky in the hopes that someone in Heaven who knew Mawmaw would find it and show it to her. Bella's note to her Mawmaw was precious. She scribbled on red construction paper the following sweet sentiment:
“Tell Mawmaw I love her and to come visit soon. Love, Bella.”
Bella's mom wrote their address on the back of the note, and after a while Bella forgot about what they had done. Then one day something incredible happened. A package arrived to their home addressed to Bella. She was so excited...what could it be?
As Bella tore into the package while standing in her driveway, she discovered a silver heart lock that accompanied her heartfelt note still attached to the now deflated pink balloon. On the back of her note was a note someone else had written back to her. It read:
"Dearest Bella. Mawmaw is always with you. Just close your eyes and you will see her. Love, Your Guardian Angel."
Bella and her mom stood in their driveway and together shared a good hard cry for 10 minutes or so. Her mom never expected the note to reach anyone, considering they live in a rural area of Tennessee. Nor did they ever expect anyone to respond, let alone with a beautiful heart lock and a sweet, reassuring note.
Bella was convinced that it came from her one and only Mawmaw who directed someone to send it to her. Tricia was thrilled that her daughter felt more at peace with Mawmaw's passing, thanks to the incredible generosity of a complete stranger with a huge heart.
"... when you open it and you see this brown satin envelope, and then you open it up and you see the locket with a balloon, and then it all hit us ... It was a very selfless act, especially at this time of the year, that is worth volumes."

No matter who sent it, that person truly is a compassionate individual. Bella and her mom want that person to know that he or she made all the difference in the world to one little girl.
Random acts of kindness are magnificently selfless and the timing of this one couldn't have been better. Kuddos to whoever did this for Bella!
