Hungry Mom At Mcdonalds Handed Anonymous 12 Word Note, Immediately Breaks Down In Tears

We are all inspired by the people working everyday to make the lives of their neighbors and country better. Be it servicemen of volunteers, there are some people who work day in and day out for their fellow man.
Sometimes though, seeing their hard work and dedication makes the effort seem a bit overwhelming - and can deter regular people like you or I from believing that we can make a lasting difference too! But the truth is, helping others doesn't have to be a full-time job that requires giving up our lives.
If we are just willing to pause and observe those around us, noticing the little things that can make a big impact in someone's life is not really that hard! Proving just that is this story where it paid off to linger a bit at a famous fast food restaurant...
The narrator and our good Samaritan who calls himself Timothy, had just finished a meal at his local McDonald's. But instead of rushing out of the fast food joint, he chose to enjoy a refill of his soda, and take a minute to just people watch. He recalls:
"The lady in the corner ... waits. She's been here since before I got here. In walks a man with a small boy, maybe 3 years old if that. 'You were supposed to be here an hour ago.' she says, slightly upset. 'Well I'm here and here he is.'"
The man starts heading for the door, but is then stopped again by the mother who asks if he can spare a couple of dollars for her to buy some food for herself. His response:
"... Starve ..."
And out he goes!
Clearly a case of a divorced or separated couple sharing custody of a young boy, the situation seemed unsettling, but perhaps not so extraordinary in this day and age! Timothy then sees the woman proceed to the cashier and order a Happy Meal. She had just enough money to cover this little treat for her son who thankfully seemed oblivious to his father's resentment and his mother's hunger.
Timothy sees her son enjoying his meal and, who is more than happy to share his half eaten French fry when the mother sheepishly and hungrily asks for a bite! This tender moment makes Timothy smile a bit, but he can clearly see the pain behind the whole thing:
"I walk to the soda machine and refill my cup ... And the teen from the counter is refiling the napkins. I hand him my debit card. And tell him to give her 2 doubles and a large fry and a large drink on me. I tell him not to tell her its from me.
As if buying a meal for her wasn't kind enough, he decided to write a short note on a napkin to make sure he fed a bit of her soul as well. This is what he wrote:
"Keep your head up and always push forward. You CAN. You WILL."
When the teen delivers the meal, the woman is clearly surprised and asks for the person responsible. As promised though, the teen doesn't reveal the truth and just walks away. Timothy is still there and can see that the woman is clearly overcome with gratitude.
As the mother and son are about to walk out from the McDonald's, they pass Timothy's table. He is surprised to see that the woman stops to whisper a "thank you" but Timothy still is not ready to give up his secret and simply winks and says "for what?". He bids the kid a good day as they walk out.
Timothy, who posted about this incident on his Facebook page, ends the story with this simple comment that is bound to resonate with all of us:
"Life is hard. Always be willing to make someones life a little easier. Little things make a big impact. For any single parent stuck in a similar place... Keep your head up and always push forward. You CAN. You WILL."
Clearly, this is an act of kindness that we can all accomplish without having to give up much of our time and money. What was easily missed by the dozens of people who walked in that McDonald's, ended up being a rather easy and simple good deed accomplished by Timothy!
Let us all do our bests to be good Samaritans, each and every day!
